Football is Cool Cash

The Super Eagles don hammer! Football is the new politics, the new quick money. But its still a lot better than our Nigerian politics because these guys actually worked for their money. Unlike those big pot-bellied politicians who just sit and do nothing but get money.

The team arrived back in Nigeria yesterday and were hosted to a banquet by the President at the Presidential Villa.

Cash donations of 10 million Naira was given to the Head Coach, Stephen Keshi and 5 million Naira each, to the assistant coaches and the twenty three players that took part in the tournament.

National honors were also conferred on the team. The honour of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) was conferred on Coach Stephen Keshi while the assistant coaches and captain of the team, Joseph Yobo were conferred with Officer of the Order of Niger (OON). Other members of the team were conferred with Members of the Order of Niger, (MON).

The President announced the allocation of a plot of land in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to each member of the team and the technical crew.

Also, cash donations were announced by the President;
Mike Adenuga (Jnr) donated $1million to the players and $200,000 to Stephen Keshi.
Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote donated 5million naira to each of the players.

Emeka Ofor, Jim Ovia and Tony Elumelu donated $500,000 each to the team.

Obobe! These boys don hammer die. Na the substitutes for the team naim I happy for pass. Some nor even play at all! Them just go mark present for attendance and in return they have millions in their account.

Good for the players; they worked hard for this.

INFO OF THE DAY: Some parts of the President's speech
"Not many people believed you could win. In spite of the skepticism, there was no despair.

"Your victory is a good indication that there is victory for us as we work hard to transform Nigeria. We will continue to give sports its pride of place. The major lesson of your victory is that no matter the number of people who doubt you, never doubt yourself".

For coach Stephen Keshi, the president told him " You have my full support" adding that the "qualification of the team for the 2014 world cup in Brazil is your next agenda and you must not fail".

I admit, at the beginning I was one of the people that had doubts about the Super Eagles but after their win over Cote'Divore, I come over believe the team.

So Keshi please I beg, don't break my heart. Give us another awesome performance at the World Cup 2014.

Stay Sharp,
Warri Girl.

Na you call am hammer. First find out how much moses receives in a week in chelsea, may be you go understand watin I mean. For most of the players, thoses gifts is just a jara. Apart from the non-govt donors, the rest cash price and plot of land proposed by FG might not get to the players o. Go ask those who played in 1994 and 1996.
Their national honour is the best take home for dem all.

I know that for players like Mikel and Moses the cash is nothing because of their club pay but for some of the other players who are still up coming and play in local leagues that cash is something. Omo if I see who go dash me 5milla now, I go scream wella. That is some cool cash
